Direct answer: what are the PMI-SP requirements?
To qualify for PMI Scheduling Professional certification, you must satisfy one of three eligibility sets defined by PMI. Each route combines an academic education requirement with professional project scheduling experience and formal project scheduling education.
The amount of experience required decreases as the qualifying education level increases. Candidates with a secondary degree need 40 months of scheduling experience, candidates with a four-year degree need 24 months, and graduates of qualifying GAC-accredited programs can qualify with at least 12 months.
How PMI-SP eligibility works
PMI-SP eligibility should be evaluated in three layers: academic education, professional project scheduling experience, and formal project scheduling education. Meeting only one or two of these conditions is not sufficient.
The first practical step is to identify which education category applies to you. From there, verify the corresponding experience requirement and the required number of scheduling education hours.

Application and audit readiness
PMI-SP candidates must submit an application documenting education, professional scheduling experience, and scheduling education. Applications selected for audit require supporting documentation, so candidates should keep records before submitting.
Microsoft Project or other scheduling-tool education may count toward the required scheduling education hours when it meets PMI's scheduling education requirements.
